About Me

My Journey

When I was younger, I spent a lot of time doing what I was supposed to, being responsible, reliable, and depressed underneath it all. I discovered that there was no such thing as a stable job. I also discovered that desk jobs complete with cubicles, white boards, and staff meetings, were not for me. I was often depleted and stressed and eventually shut down my creative flow.  I stuck with those jobs for a long time.

In 2000, my loving but very practical and old-fashioned father passed away suddenly. This is when I began a very long and winding journey of discovery, both spiritual and inspiring, and heart-achingly difficult at times. I left the cubicle maze and took on jobs that paid substantially less but brought more joy and satisfaction. I studied bodywork (massage therapy). Was attuned to Reiki. And opened to my creative flow...little by little. But I also lived in resistance and fear, spending a lot of time invisible. Often accepting BS from people that I shouldn't have. Mistaking being "easy-going" with being a doormat. Until I reached a turning point from a dark period.

In 2015 I took my first journey to Peru, visiting high energy places and working with sacred plant medicine. That was the first of four journeys there, training with medicine men and healers there. Though life got more difficult and challenging, it was also transforming.

In 2020, with the world shut down, my landlord selling her condo, and a furlough from a job I didn't want to return to, I accepted life's invitation to break free. I packed up my car and began a solo road trip that included car camping, hiking, and some extraordinary places. It is on this journey that the first book began to whisper to me and I decided to listen. It is on this journey that I learned to say "yes" and allow things to unfold. This journey led to the next, which led to my soulmate, which led to my current life in which I claim my identity as writer, artist, author, speaker, teacher, and coach. It is in this journey that I now remember to play, laugh, dance, and embrace joy.
