Nestled somewhere between vast high deserts and mountains and accompanied by great canyons and rivers, Star Junction waits. She is not an official town, but a place whose purpose is lost to legends where a community was forged longer ago than today’s memories. A place where people chose connection over economics, and some work to awaken the ways lost to time and advancement. Now, Star Junction is calling her people home.
“Bring them together, bring them home.” Is the message in Val’s dream. She’s sees the faces of memories and of children she doesn’t know. A phone call later that morning propels Val on an unforgettable journey of remembering in the beloved home she’d been forced to leave decades before. When she and 10 year-old nephew Alex retrieve Jake from foster care, she discovers that this journey will be much more than expected. Together they will learn from the guidance of Grandmother Flor and Mr. Edward, and discover the many mysteries and treasures of the land around them. Each must face their story if they are to uncover the secrets of Star Junction and find Jake’s missing sister Lilah. This is Return to Star Junction.
Discover the Legends of Star Junction as book two, Keepers of the Star Path, takes us on a journey to the past to give insights into Star Junction and the people who call the town home.
Star Junction is nestled in the mountains somewhere along the border of Northern Arizona and southern Utah. Here, the Watcher keeps vigil over the town, the mountain lives in the heart of those born to it, and the elders teach the children: “Beautiful children, you are the seeds. Life will take you many directions. When it does, you must always remember the truth of who you are, the essence of your being, the love within. You must never forget how to call the stars home.”
When young William moves to the birthplace of his grandmother, he is recognized quickly by Flor who had been close with his grandmother and was now a respected elder here. Tragedy finds William and changes his life forever. Flor steps in, but discovers that her son Edward doesn’t like the new kid, and isn’t happy about sharing his mother. Can they learn to get along? As she guides the boys from adversaries to brotherhood, we also see her own journey from innocence to wisdom. Can she teach them enough, and protect them from darker influences, so that they too can claim their staff as Keepers of the Star Path?
